Pandia
Hellenion 2026
By Thrasys
## Overview Not much is known about this festival but according to Parke it was definitely held during the month of the Elaphebolion because it was said to be held after City Dionysia, on 16 or 17 Elaphebolion (Parke, 136). Other scholars mentioned by Cook hypothesize that this festival may be connected to Zeus and Selene, Pandia being their daughter described in the Homeric Hymn 32 to Selene or the possibility that Pandia (meaning "exceeding lovely" and possessing "all brightness" ) may be an epithet of Selene though there is no surviving evidence of this.
